My dad is the oldest of four boys. He was the first to have a child, my brother, so yet another Marchese boy added to the family. Then 5.5 years later I arrived. My dad tells the story of how after I was born he was able to announce on the hospital intercom that “It’s a GIRL!” and my grandpa couldn’t have been happier to finally have a baby girl in the family. Then shortly after my arrival came another girl with my sister, and then two girls each for two of my uncles. My brother was the only grandchild for awhile then nothing but a bunch of girls added to our family.
Fast forward many years later and my brother is the first grandchild to have a baby and it was a girl. My niece was the only great grandchild for around eleven years before my I had my firstborn and it was fun to have a little boy added to the family after the string of me, my sister and 4 girl cousins. Well then so began the string of boys in the great grandchild generation. So we figured this would be the same but opposite. A boy than all girls for our generation and then it looked like it was going to end up a girl and then nothing but boys for this generation. Until I had my last baby that we of course assumed to be yet another boy but to our total surprise we got our girl. And then I apparently broke the chain and just a few months ago my cousin Talia, who happens to be the last Marchese girl grandchild, added another little girl to our family. Little miss Sawyer May is the newest addition to the Marchese great grandkids and I may be bias but she is the absolute cutest little doll.
